Geese will continue as a four-piece after guitarist Foster Hudson decided to leave the Brooklyn, New York, based group. The news was confirmed by the band in a social media post published this week.

According to the statement posted on Instagram, Hudson departed the group in order to “pursue his academic endeavors”.

“Moving forward, Foster will remain at school and Geese will continue as a 4 piece. We wholeheartedly support Foster’s decision to continue his studies and we hope that you will too,” Geese wrote. “Thank you and much love.”

Geese formed in 2016 by a group of high school friends and recorded several demos before disbanding at the end of their senior year as band members were set to attend different colleges. However, their recordings ended up getting attention from several record labels and landed them a deal with Partisan Records.

Since then, Geese released two studio albums, 2021’s Projector and 2023’s 3D Country, with both receiving positive reviews from critics. The group’s most recent release is the extended play 4D Country, which came out in October. It features songs that were made during record sessions for 3D Country but didn’t make the cut to appear on the album, as well as a reworked version of the record’s title track.
