Hozier found massive success with his viral hit “Too Sweet”, and managed to top the charts around the world – including the US. After steadily climbing up the Billboard Hot 100 chart, “Too Sweet” finally hit No. 1 this week, becoming his first single to do so.

“Too Sweet” managed to reach to top of the summit after attracting 35.6 million streams, 14.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, and selling 6,000 copies during its latest week on the chart. It initially debuted at No. 5 following its release on March 22, becoming his second song to reach the top ten following his breakout hit “Take Me to Church”.

“Too Sweet” has been slowly climbing up the Billboard Hot 100 chart, but it already hit No. 1 in several other countries in the meantime. It became Hozier’s first chart-topping single in the UK and also climbed to No. 1 in Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland.

Hozier, who’s currently touring the world with his latest album Unreal Unearth, thanked fans for the outpouring of love he received since releasing “Too Sweet”.

“I’ve been both thrilled and taken massively by surprise by such a staggering reaction. It means the world that you’re enjoying this song so much. Thank you all so much,” he said in a video on Instagram.
