Back in 1993, Counting Crows released their acclaimed debut album August and Everything After but failed to include the title track in the release. Still, the band decided to correct this mistake 26 years later.

August and Everything After” not only served as an inspiration for the title of Counting Crows’ debut release, but its lyrics were also featured on the cover of the album. Despite this, the track didn’t make the cut since frontman Adam Duritz felt it was unfinished. More than a decade later, the band started playing it on live concerts but it wasn’t until last November that they decided to make a proper studio recording with composer Vince Mendoza and the London Studio Orchestra.

“I never really thought much about this song back in the day because it wasn’t finished- said Duritz in a statement. “But when we got the chance to work with Vince Mendoza, I thought it was a good time to rewrite it and get it right.”

Although this song represents a real gem for all Counting Crows fans, the band decided to go down the unconventional road and share the song exclusively on Amazon.

Counting Crows’ last studio release came in 2014, when they presented Somewhere Under Wonderland. The album met with positive reviews and managed to peak at No.6 on the US Billboard 200.
