It’s been years since Barbra Streisand released new music, but she chose a very special reason to come back. “Love Will Survive” marks her first new release since 2018, and it will serve as the end-title theme for Peacock’s mini-series The Tattooist of Auschwitz.

Streisand’s new song is a touching ode to survivors and victims of the Holocaust, and she recorded it alongside the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by William Ross.

“I wanted to sing ‘Love Will Survive’ in the context of this series, as a way of remembering the six million souls who were lost less than 80 years ago. And also to say that even in the darkest of times, the power of love can triumph and endure,” said Streisand in a statement.

Claire Mundell, one of the executive producers of The Tattooist of Auschwitz, said they’re deeply honored to be working with Streisand. She praised her for crafting the most beautiful song that perfectly sums up the key message of this series.

“Love Will Survive” marks Streisand’s first release of original material since her album Walls from 2018. Despite failing to reach the top ten on the Billboard 200 chart, it was nominated for the best traditional pop vocal album at the Grammy Awards.
