Rage Against the Machine went on several hiatuses over the years, and they’re gearing up for another one. After canceling a series of dates throughout 2023, the iconic rock band announced that they “will not be touring or playing live again.”

The drummer Brad Wilk took to social media to share a message on behalf of the band, revealing they won’t be hitting the road together anytime soon.

“I know a lot of people are waiting for us to announce new tour dates for all the canceled RATM shows. So, while there has been some communication that this may be happening in the future… I want to let you know that RATM (Tim, Zack, Tom, and I) will not be touring or playing live again,” wrote Wilk.

He also took a moment to thank every person who’s ever supported them and apologized to fans who’ve been waiting for the tour to happen. Rage Against the Machine and other individual members are yet to comment on Wilk’s statement about their most recent split.

Seeing RATM take a break from performing doesn’t come as a shocker, since this marks their third farewell, following splits in 2000 and 2011. They also decided to cancel the North American leg of their Public Service Announcement Tour in 2023 due to frontman Zach de la Rocha’s injury.
