Mitski’s fans had a collective meltdown after she announced her “last show indefinitely”, but the indie singer recently explained the meaning behind these words and made it clear she’s not quitting music.

All hell broke loose after Mitski posted a tweet announcing she’ll be playing Summerstage in New York City’s Central Park on September 7th and described this tour date as her “last show indefinitely”.

Her fans were heartbroken by the news, but the singer quickly made it clear that she’s not quitting music anytime soon. Mitski explained she decided to take a break after constantly touring for five years because she felt it’s time to be a human again and have a place to call home.

“I don’t want to make art like that, especially when you’re offering your valuable time and hearts and money to it. So I hope you’ll have me back whenever that is, or if I start over then I start over. Thank you so much for all your support!” clarified Mitski on Twitter.
