Halsey is busy working on new music, and she recently dropped some hints about her next studio album on social media. The Grammy-nominated singer said she’s focusing on recording music that makes her feel good, adding it won’t have any strict genre parameters.

Halsey recently took to social media to answer several fan questions, and here’s what she had to say after a fan asked her what her next album is going to sound like:

“As of right now I’m approaching it kinda how I approached Manic. No strict genre parameters or anything. Just making what feels good and what hits home 🙂 definitely some of my best songwriting. a lot of life has happened to me since I wrote IICHLIWP [If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power],” she wrote on Twitter.

Halsey’s last album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power came out in August 2021, and she used it to explore a wide range of different genres, from alternative rock to grunge pop. She’s been on quite a journey since its release, and her next album will be the first released by Columbia Records, after she parted ways with her long-term label Capitol Records earlier this year.
