Barbie has been breaking records left and right since its release and its soundtrack is now doing the same thing. Barbie: The Album made a major impact on the UK singles chart, and made history as the movie soundtrack with most songs in the top five.

Barbie: The Album hit the shelves on July 21, along with Greta Gerwig’s film about Mattel’s iconic doll, and it did pretty great during its first week on the charts. Three songs from the record made it to the top five on the Official Singles Chart, while a total of six tracks made it to the top 40.

“What Was I Made For” by Billie Eilish, “Dance the Night” by Dua Lipa, and “Barbie World” by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice made it to No. 3, 4, and 5, respectively. This marks the first time in history that three tracks from a soundtrack have reached the top five at the same time.

It was also quite historic to see a total of six songs from this album make it to the top 40, including “Speed Drive” by Charli XCX, “I’m Just Ken” by Ryan Gosling, and “Pink” by Lizzo.

Barbie: The Album was carefully curated by the superstar producer Mark Ronson, and it also included contributions from Sam Smith, Haim, PinkPantheress, Karol G, Ava Max, and FIFTY FIFTY.
