The Prodigy’s Keith Flint Dies, Age 49

The Prodigy’s Keith Flint has died at the age of 49.

The Prodigy have been pioneers of electronic music and have millions of fans worldwide. Yesterday (March 4), the frontman was found dead in his home in Essex, UK.

“It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint,” Flint’s fellow Prodigy members Liam Howlett and Maxim Reality said in a statement. “A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed. We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time.”

The cause of death has not yet been confirmed but it is not considered to be anything suspicious. Flint was found unconscious but by the time the ambulance arrived, the was dead.

Tributes from fans and musicians have been flooding in on social media.

Sleaford Mods wrote: “Very sorry to hear of the passing of Keith Flint. Good night mate. Take it easy.”

Enter Shikari’s Rou Reynolds Tweeted: “Keith Flint you bloody legend. The Prodigy were one of the first big bands we supported years ago and Keith single-handedly shattered my presumption that big stars would have an arrogance and aloofness about them. He was so welcoming, sweet and passionate.”
