Fans of the Killers spent almost two years waiting for their new video and it was definitely worth the wait. “Land Of The Free” is their most heartbreaking video to date, and it sends powerful message about human rights in the modern world.

The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers said he decided to write this song in the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting, and admitted it took a lot of self-education and soul searching. He felt he’s not the right person for the job, but did it anyway after looking at the string of tragedies happening in the world around him.

The music video for this moving new track tells the story of migrant families from Mexico trying to make their way to “the land of the free”. It was directed by the Oscar-winning director Spike Lee, and Flowers stated it was an absolute honor to have him film this deeply touching visual.

“I never thought that I would be a part of a Spike Lee joint. It was just an incredible thing to collaborate with him. He’s a master, obviously. Some of these issues are obviously very close to his heart, and he just hit it out of the park,” said Flowers.
