Faced with a shortage of rock heavyweights, Lollapalooza is increasingly relying on pop stars to headline its annual events. This year, the festival bookers are enrolling Ariana Grande to be a headliner in the event scheduled to take place between August 1-4 at Chicago’s Grant Park.

Grande is scheduled to headline another event this April – Coachella. But seeing the pop star is highly sought after this year, Lollapalooza are confirming her appearance months before the event begins.

Her appearance at the show isn’t by any luck though. Lollapalooza have been attempting to secure her performance for months, the Variety announced this week. This was the contrast of her Coachella performance where she was announced only days before the full list was released. At Coachella, Grande was brought in as a replacement for Kanye West, whose stage demands emerged too big to handle.

With the two performances, the 25-year-old pop star is also forced to reschedule some of her tour dates. At least five performances that had been booked for April will now take place between June and July. This includes her dates in Indianapolis, Columbus, Milwaukee, St. Louis, St. Paul, Denver and Salt Lake City. Her Las Vegas concert that had been booked for May was also pushed to August.
