It’s been over a year since The Greatest Showman soundtrack hit the shelves, but we’re still talking about it like it was yesterday. This hit album recently broke another major record, previously held by Adele.
The Greatest Showman soundtrack has spent more weeks at number one in the UK than any other album this century, including Adele’s 21. This album broke her record after managing to remain at number one for the last chart week of 2018, which was its 24th non-consecutive week at the top.
The Greatest Showman tells the story of P. T. Barnum and the creation of his infamous Barnum & Bailey Circus. Despite the fact the film itself received mixed reviews, its soundtrack quickly gained a cult status.
It gave us several amazing tracks, including This Is Me, which competed for Best Original Song at the Oscars and won that same award at Golden Globes. The Greatest Showman soundtrack is also in the running for two Grammy awards at the upcoming ceremony on February 10, 2019.
