The post Keith Urban Joins “The Voice” as the Mega Mentor appeared first on Hot Pop Today.
]]>Urban is no stranger to The Voice viewers—he previously joined coach Blake Shelton as an adviser in Season 15 and he’s finally ready to take on a bigger role. He’s definitely up for the challenge since he already served as a coach on several seasons of the Australian version of The Voice. He also judged several seasons of American Idol between 2013 and 2016, while this singing competition show still aired on Fox.
The 25th season of The Voice kicked off on February 26, with Chance the Rapper, Dan + Shay, John Legend, and Reba McEntire serving as coaches. Urban will join them on April 8, and it will be up to him to mentor the remaining artists who have made it through the battle rounds.
The Voice won’t be the only project keeping Urban busy this year. He’s also gearing up for the release of his 12th studio album, which he promoted with previously released singles “Straight Line” and “Messed Up As Me”.

]]>Dan + Shay are not newcomers to The Voice universe. They previously served as Blake Shelton’s Battle Advisors in Season 20, but they’ll have a much bigger role and coach new contestants to victory in Season 25.
The Voice went through a major overhaul this season after long-time coach Blake Shelton exited the series after 23 seasons. Reba McEntire took his spot, and she’ll be back for Season 25 with several returning coaches.
Dan + Shay will actually be the only first-time coaches next season since John Legend is set to return for his ninth season, while Chance the Rapper made his coaching debut in Season 23.
Dan + Shay are a worthy addition to the coaching panel since they won three consecutive Grammy Awards for Best country duo/group performance for the songs “Tequila”, “Speechless”, and “10,000 Hours” (with Justin Bieber). They haven’t released any new solo music since their 2021 album Good Things, but they collaborated with Charlie Puth on the song “That’s Not How This Works” earlier this year.

McEntire is excited to take on the bigger role as the show progresses and join the coaches Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani, and John Legend in Season 24.
“I’m looking forward to being here with all of y’all. You’ve treated me so nicely. I appreciate the hospitality so much that you showed me earlier. And to be able to come in and form my team, I’m so looking forward to it,” she said during her latest appearance on the show.
Blake Shelton served as the coach since the very first season of The Voice, and he’s excited to see Reba McEntire take his seat. He’ll depart after the current 23rd season of the hit singing competition show, which premiered on NBC back in March.

]]>But leave he did, and as he told Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show, it had a lot to do with his desire to spend more time with his young daughters Gio Grace and Dusty Rose, ages 3 and 1 respectively.
“I really do miss it,” Levine said about The Voice. “I love the people that I met and worked with.” But according to him, the amount of work was just too much for him to juggle with his desire to spend more time with his family.
“I do miss it but I don’t miss how much I had to work. I was constantly working for so many years — very lucky, very fortunate, very bless and all that — but to just be able to stop in this moment to spend time with my new young family and just have the greatest time ever. Now I’m a stay-at-home dad. I just stay at home and do very little.”
But don’t worry, Levine still intends to pursue his work with Maroon 5. In fact, he told Ellen there’s a new tour in sight, and we’ll be sure to give you more details as they become available!
