The Voice will return for its 25th season next year, and its coaching panel will look quite different when it comes back. The country duo Dan + Shay will join the singing competition next season, and they’re set to become the show’s very first coaching duo.

Dan + Shay are not newcomers to The Voice universe. They previously served as Blake Shelton’s Battle Advisors in Season 20, but they’ll have a much bigger role and coach new contestants to victory in Season 25.

The Voice went through a major overhaul this season after long-time coach Blake Shelton exited the series after 23 seasons. Reba McEntire took his spot, and she’ll be back for Season 25 with several returning coaches.

Dan + Shay will actually be the only first-time coaches next season since John Legend is set to return for his ninth season, while Chance the Rapper made his coaching debut in Season 23.

Dan + Shay are a worthy addition to the coaching panel since they won three consecutive Grammy Awards for Best country duo/group performance for the songs “Tequila”, “Speechless”, and “10,000 Hours” (with Justin Bieber). They haven’t released any new solo music since their 2021 album Good Things, but they collaborated with Charlie Puth on the song “That’s Not How This Works” earlier this year.
