It was recently announced Reba McEntire would serve as a mega mentor on the new season of The Voice, but her role will be much bigger next season. The country legend will step in to replace Blake Shelton and join the panel of coaches in Season 24 of The Voice.

McEntire is not a The Voice newbie, and she lent advice to competing artists on several occasions in the past. She’s currently serving as the show’s “mega mentor”, but we’ve also seen her serve as an advisor to Shelton’s team during the show’s debut season.

McEntire is excited to take on the bigger role as the show progresses and join the coaches Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani, and John Legend in Season 24.

“I’m looking forward to being here with all of y’all. You’ve treated me so nicely. I appreciate the hospitality so much that you showed me earlier. And to be able to come in and form my team, I’m so looking forward to it,” she said during her latest appearance on the show.

Blake Shelton served as the coach since the very first season of The Voice, and he’s excited to see Reba McEntire take his seat. He’ll depart after the current 23rd season of the hit singing competition show, which premiered on NBC back in March.
