Sigur Rós’ Jónsi and Alex Somers Plot “Riceboy Sleeps”10th Anniversary Tour

Sigur Rós’ frontman Jónsi and American musician Alex Somers just announced a North America tour in honor of the 10th anniversary of their collaborative record Riceboy Sleeps. The duo will visit 10 cities during their trip on which they will be joined by Wordless Music Orchestra and Choir.

The tour will kick off on October 11 in Seattle and will see Jónsi and Somers performing in San Franciso, Toronto and Boston before wrapping up the journey in Brooklyn on October 31.

“After all these years and having never fully realized our album in a live environment we are so excited to come play a few special shows,” said Jónsi and Somer in a statement. “We’ll be playing in some really beautiful rooms and we can’t wait to share this experience together.”

Riceboy Sleeps was released on 20 July 2009 and was entirely comprised of ambient music. The album topped the  Billboard Top New Age Albums charts and received mixed to positive reviews from the critics.
