Rolling Stone took everyone by surprise when they announced their decision to rival Billboard by launching their own charts. It’s been almost two months since they broke the news, and the charts they promised are finally here.

What differentiates Rolling Stone from their biggest competitor is the fact that their interactive set of music charts will be updated on a daily basis, offering a more current look at the biggest songs, albums, and artists on the scene.

“All five of these charts auto-populate in almost real-time on a daily basis, with finalized overviews available at the end of each week. Our aim is to reflect the true impact of music, celebrate the artists most deserving of attention, and better define what it really means to be number one,” reads a press release by Rolling Stone.

The list of the charts they introduced this week includes Top 100 Songs, Top 200 Albums, Artists 500, Trending 25 and Breakthrough 25. “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X made it to the top of songs chart, while The Raconteurs snagged a no. 1 spot on the albums chart with their new record Help Us Stranger.
