Rico Nasty just dropped her first single of 2023 titled “Turn It Up” and its music video is full of surprises. The rapper takes on the role of a maid from hell, who seems to be more interested in robbing her employees than actually cleaning up their house.
The video opens with Rico Nasty arriving at a nice house for a cleanup job, but she does very little cleaning and spends most of the video sipping wine in the bathtub. The video’s final moments reveal that the owners have been around the whole time, tied up in the basement with no clue what’s going on.
The music video for this song was directed by Isaac Garcia, and Rico Nasty can be heard rapping, “I just put the cash in a stash / Why you lookin’ on my page and you ain’t even wash ya a—? / I got a check, now I don’t know how to act,” during the song’s chorus.
“Turn It Up” is Rico Nasty’s first song since her mixtape Las Ruinas from 2022, but it’s unclear if its release means she’s working on a new album. The rapper is currently busy touring across North America and she’s expected to stay on the road until May 27.
