Pearl Jam recently announced their first album in four years, Dark Matter, and they found a perfect way to mark its release. The iconic Seattle rock band will embark on a tour around the world to celebrate the release of their new album, which includes dates in Europe, North America, and Australia.

Dark Matter will be released on April 19 via Monkeywrench Records and Republic Records, and the album announcement was accompanied by a full tracklist reveal. Pearl Jam prepared 11 brand-new songs this time around, including the title track “Dark Matter”, released as the album’s lead single.

Eddie Vedder, Jeff Ament, Mike McCreedy and Matt Cameron will promote the release of their new LP by kicking off a world tour on May 4 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada. They’ll perform all over North America and Europe before wrapping up the tour with concerts in New Zealand and Australia in late November.

Andrew Watt produced Dark Matter, and guitarist Mike McCready revealed he pushed them to work on this album harder than ever.

“It’s a lot heavier than you’d expect. There’s the melody and energy of the first couple of records. Andrew pushed us to play as hard and melodic and thoughtful as we’ve done in a long time,” McCready told Classic Rock.
