Being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is no small feat, and some of our favorite artists just got one step closer to achieving this gall. Cher, Mariah Carey, and Oasis are among the artists who made the list of nominees for the Class of 2024.

John Sykes, chairman of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, announced this year’s nominees in a press release and praised them for creating “their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps.”

Pop goddess Cher, the R&B superstar Mariah Carey, and the British band Oasis made the cut this year, along with the late Irish singer Sinéad O’Connor, nine-time Grammy winner Mary J. Blige, and the rock sensation Lenny Kravitz.

Ten of 15 nominees this year are in the running for the first time, but some of them are no strangers to being nominated, including A Tribe Called Quest and Dave Matthews Band. Ozzy Osbourne had even been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 with his band Black Sabbath, but he’s in the running again as an individual artist.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will announce the list of inductees in April, while the induction ceremony will take place in Cleveland this fall.
