There was a lot of anticipation surrounding Meghan Trainor’s new single “Mother”, and she managed to outdo herself this time around! She dropped a cheeky music video for this song and brought Kris Jenner on board to make it even more amazing.
From lip-syncing to the lyrics while wearing a platinum wig to dancing by Trainor’s side in a matching velvet dress, Jenner clearly had a time of her life in this music video. Casting her was truly a genius moves since the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch happens to be one of the most famous mothers in the world and she helped her daughters find worldwide fame.
Trainor used “Mother” to promote a deluxe edition of her latest album Takin’ It Back, which was released on March 10. The song’s campy visual pays homage to some of the singer’s previous music videos, while the song’s lyrics are all about taking her power back.
“This song is my response to being in the industry for almost a decade now and still finding myself in situations where I am talked down to or made to feel like my opinion isn’t valid. It’s for anyone who is in a situation where they feel like they are being mansplained to and want to take their power back,” said Trainor in a statement.
