Working on an album is a big step for her, but she’s finally ready to take it. “I was really scared of commitment. My mixtapes were like my boyfriends, and we were just dating. But sugar, my debut album, we married. Y’all finna get to know me, and that’s where we at with it,” Megan Thee Stallion joked while chatting with Billboard.

The rising hip-hop star joined forces with Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign on her hit song “Hot Girl Summer,” and the success of this single opened many doors for her. After it peaked at no. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Jay Z apparently took notice and Stallion ended up signing a management deal with his company Roc Nation.
