Mac DeMarco continues to give us insights into his upcoming album Here Comes the Cowboy. This time the Canadian singer/songwriter did it by releasing a new single called “All of Our Yesterdays.”

According to DeMarco’s statement, this was the first song he started writing for the new record and was partially inspired by an Oasis documentary.

“The phrase “all of our yesterdays” comes from the play Macbeth.” he explains. “Also I think there’s a “Star Trek” episode from 1969 with the same title; very cool. I had just seen a documentary about Oasis before writing this song, and I was trying to write a gigantic rock and roll hit with my renewed love for the band. I didn’t really get close to that at all, but I’m happy with the song that came out.”

You can hear “All of Our Yesterdays” below.

Here Comes the Cowboy is set for release on May 10, 2019. It will be Mac DeMarco’s fourth studio album and serves as a follow up to his critically acclaimed record from 2017, This Old Dog.

Following the release of the new album, De Marco will embark on a tour across North America which will take place in May, September and October.
