It was always match made in heaven, and now it finally happened. Musicians Jack Black and Jack White recently got together and recorded a song together, fulfilling a long-time wish from their fans.

Black revealed the collaboration in a behind-the-scenes YouTube video, fittingly titled Jack Gray, which shows him and his Tenacious D partner Kyle Gass visiting White in Nashville.

In the clip, Black and Gass take a tour of headquarters of Jack White’s label Third Man Records before going to The Raconteurs frontman’s house. While there, three musicians record a track together in White’s home studio. Unfortunately, the video doesn’t contain a preview of the single, but it is at least encouraging to know that it is there.

“This is a legendary collab,” Black says about the song. “Everyone’s been waiting for it. Now it’s here.”

You can check out the clip in full below.

Jack Black and Kyle Gass are currently in between tour and have also managed to find time to work on Tenacious D’s fifth studio album. Black, however, recently noticed the fans that the record will be out “after 2020.”

Jack White is in the middle of a tour with The Raconteurs. The band will be on the road until October, promoting their new album Help Us Stranger.
