The wait for Taylor Swift’s new album is almost over, and she’ll surprise us with another single before it comes out. The Grammy-winning singer announced she’s dropping her new song, “Lover,” this Friday, and we’re already counting the hours until its release.
Swift shared the amazing news while accepting the Icon Award at this year’s Teen Choice Awards. She was presented with a custom-made surfboard featuring an adorable picture of her cats, and the crowd went wild after she announced her next single is coming out on August 16th.
The “Me!” singer used her speech at this ceremony to thank her fans for supporting her every step of the way and described them as the reason why she has the life she has. She also reminded them that it’s ok to make mistakes, and encouraged them to be kind to themselves.
Taylor Swift used the end of her speech to hype her upcoming album Lover, which is scheduled for August 23rd release. She already gave us a taste of things to come with new songs “Me!”, “You Need to Calm Down” and “The Archer”.
