Ice Spice really kept us waiting for her debut album, and we finally know when this record is hitting the shelves. The rapper’s debut album Y2K will be released next month, and she’s planning to support it with a headlining tour across Europe and North America this summer.
Ice Spice’s star has been on the rise for quite some time, and she’s been dubbed “rap’s new princess” in the wake of the success of “Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2” ft. PinkPantheress, her Nicki Minaj collaborations “Princess Diana” and “Barbie World”, and the remix of Taylor Swift’s “Karma”.
She found success with her EP Like..? last year, and she’s been working on her debut studio album ever since. The Grammy-nominated rapper finally announced its release back in January, revealed it will be called Y2K, and promised a “crazy collaboration” with an A-list artist.
Ice Spice gave us a taste of things to come with two solo singles — “Think U the S–t (Fart)” and “Gimmie a Light”. She also shared the album cover that sees her posing with a ginger wig against a concrete wall, in addition to confirming the July 26 release date.
The rapper is planning to support the release of Y2K with her first headlining tour, which will kick off at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark on July 4.
