Elton John experimented with many different genres over the years, and he still manages to find a way to surprise us with his musical choices. The legendary singer recently revealed he has collaborations with Metallica and Gorillaz in the works.

John discussed his plans for the future with English singer SG Lewis during a recent episode of his Apple Music radio show Rocket Hour and teased a couple of exciting collaborations.

“I’ve just done something with Metallica [and] during this lockdown period I’ve been working with Gorillaz and people like that. I haven’t been doing any Elton stuff, I’ve been doing great stuff with other people,” said the “Rocket Man” singer.

Elton John is no stranger to collaborating with heavy metal acts, and one of his latest collaborations came in the form of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Ordinary Man”. He’s also expected to appear on Miley Cyrus’ album of Metallica covers, also featuring Yo-Yo Ma and Chad Smith. While discussing this project with Capital FM, the former Disney star revealed he played the piano for her version of the band’s smash hit “Nothing Else Matters”.
