By now, we’re guessing that you have heard of Billie Elish. The seventeen year old singer and songwriter has a gorgeous voice which is mature beyond her years and she is writing songs that most artists don’t manage to achieve until their mid-twenties.

The grunge artist has impressed one person in particular and she is beyond flattered with his comments. This person is none other than Foo Fighters and Nirvana legend, Dave Grohl.

Speaking to Radio X she responded to Grohl’s comments: “I can’t even believe that. Are you kidding? He said rock isn’t dead because of me. Dude, I grew up on that s**t. Huh? Rock? Like, I can’t.”

For some context, Grohl posted a photo of Billie Elish in concert on Instagram and shared his admiration for the rising star.

“I went to go see Billie Eilish not too long ago,” he explained. “Oh my god man. Unbelievable. My daughters are obsessed with Billie Eilish. And what I’m seeing happening with my daughters is the same revolution that happened to me at their age. My daughters are listening to Billie Eilish and they’re becoming themselves through her music. She totally connects to them.”

He also said: “When I look at someone like Billie Eilish, I’m like…s**t man….rock n roll is not even close to being dead…”

Billie Elish will release her debut album March 29.
