The formula for our best new songs of the week lists is quite simple: listen to a lot of songs and pick out the best ones. And guess what? It works every time, as you can see below.

This week’s list is highlighted by thrash metal legends Metallica, whose new track “If Darkness Had A Son” is an instant classic, at least in the eyes of diehard fans. If you don’t like Metallica and what they stand for, you will hardly like the track. But for everyone else, it will serve as a great addition to their playlist.

We also have new tracks from Portugal. The Man, Nicki Minaj, Steve Aoki & Galantis, and many more. So get your headphones, kick back, and enjoy.
