The charitable work of Avicii has come to light following the DJ’s death.

Avicii, whose real name is Tim Bergling, passed away recently in Oman. He was just 28 years old.

Anna Hedenmo, who is the general secretary of the Swedish Aid organization RadiohjÀlpen, paid tribute and wrote in a translated Tweet: “Rest in peace Tim Bergling and THANK YOU because you laid the foundation for Hunger Help with your generous contribution – 1 million euros – to RadiohjÀlpen.”

In 2012, Avicii also donated $1 million to the American charity organization Feeding America and in a 2013 interview he declared: “(When) you have such an excess of money you don’t need, the most sensible, most human and completely obvious thing is to give to people in need.”
