]]>Eminem teased the release of his new album during the NFL Draft in Detroit, where he shared a short video that sees a true crime reporter discussing the events that led to the murder of Slim Shady
“Through his complex and oft-criticized, tongue-twisting rhymes, the anti-hero known as Slim Shady has had no shortage of enemies. The same rude lyrics and controversial antics may have ultimately led to his demise,” says the reporter in the video.
Eminem’s long-time collaborator 50 Cent also makes a cameo, saying that Slim Shady is not a friend, but a psychopath. Eminem makes a brief appearance at the end of the video, claiming “I knew it was only a matter of time for Slim.”
The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace) will be Eminem’s first studio album since Music to Be Murdered By in 2020. It debuted atop the Billboard 200, making him the first artist with ten consecutive No. 1 albums in the US, and produced singles “Darkness”, “Godzilla” ft. Juice Wrld, and “Those Kinda Nights” ft. Ed Sheeran.

]]>It’s been three years since the release of Deep Purple’s covers album Turning to Crime, and they’ll soon be back with some new material. The band’s next LP will be released on July 19 via earMUSIC, and its title =1 holds a special meaning for the band.
“The enigmatic title =1 symbolizes the idea that in a world growing ever more complex, everything eventually simplifies down to a single, unified essence. Everything equals one,” reads the statement on their official website.
Deep Purple also revealed that their new album “embodies the essence and attitude of their 1970s incarnation possibly more than any other album in recent memory”, adding that the producer Bob Ezrin helped them evoke their classic sound, without relying too much on nostalgia.
Deep Purple are planning to share more info about =1 by the end of the month – the first single and official album teaser will hit the shelves on April 30.

]]>Imagine Dragons made an epic comeback with the genre-defying single “Eyes Closed” earlier this month – and there’s more where that came from! They officially announced the release of their sixth studio album Loom, which will be released on June 28 and feature a total of ten songs.
Imagine Dragons also shared a cover of their new album, which perfectly sums up its themes, according to the band’s frontman Dan Reynolds.
“You can’t really tell if it’s a sunset or a sunrise, and then there are two people kind of separated standing in front of it. That really kind of sums it up thematically when I listen to it, Is the beginning of something new, or is this the end of something?” Reynolds told The Associated Press.
Imagine Dragons are planning to celebrate the release of Loom by taking it on the road this summer. Their biggest North American headlining tour to date will kick off in Camden, NJ on June 20, and they’re planning to wrap it up with a concert at Los Angeles’ iconic Hollywood Bowl on October 22.

]]>Eilish announced Hit Me Hard and Soft earlier this month, and its tracklist was leaked by Rolling Stone story after the album announcement. She slammed the magazine for posting the tracklist before she was ready to share it with the world, thus disrupting her vision for the album rollout.
Eilish eventually decided to take things into her own hands and revealed that Hit Me Hard and Soft will feature a total of ten brand-new songs. “Skinny” will serve as its opening track, and it will be joined by songs “Birds of Feather”, “Wildflower”, and “L’Amour De Ma Vie”, among others.
Eilish previously revealed she’s not intending to release any singles ahead of the album’s release. She described Hit Me Hard and Soft as a “diverse yet cohesive collection of songs, ideally listened to in its entirety from beginning to end.”
Hit Me Hard and Soft was produced by Eilish’s brother and frequent collaborator Finneas O’Connell, and it will hit the shelves on May 17.

]]>Deftones hit the Outdoor Theatre stage at Coachella this past weekend, and Moreno dropped hints about their new music while chatting with KROQ.
“We have a whole record recorded all musically. And it’s pretty much my job right now to finish up the vocals… We’re not really in a rush. We want it to be great. I think that’s most important. But it is coming, and, yeah – it’s really good,” said Moreno.
Despite already finishing up most of the album, Moreno said they still don’t have “a definite timeframe” for the album’s release. He also said they’re really excited about what they’ve been working on and described their new sound as “invigorated”.
Deftones haven’t dropped a new album since Ohms in 2020, which produced singles “Ohms”, “Genesis”, and “Ceremony”. It was met with critical acclaim and received a nomination for best rock performance at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. It debuted at No. 5 in both the UK and the US and hit the top ten in several countries around the world.

It was a great week for female artists overall, and the songs that made the cut cover a wide range of different genres. In addition to Maggie Rogers and Girl in Red representing alternative pop-rock, R&B artists Chlöe, Tinashe, and Willow also made it to our list alongside the rising country star Tanner Adell.

]]>Rihanna recently sat down for an in-depth conversation with Interview Magazine, and her next album was one of the topics of conversation. She said that her “brain is working backward” on her next album, adding that she’s mostly focusing on “visual ideas” at the moment.
“I usually have the music first, and the music leads me into all of these visual opportunities, and now I’m having all of these visuals, and I don’t have the songs for them yet, but maybe that’s the key, this time. Maybe the visual ideas are leading me to the songs that I need to make,” she explained.
Rihanna also said she has a lot of “random ideas, quirky ideas, things that have nothing to do with me at all” and described her next album as somewhat of a rebirth. She’s been dropping hints about new material for quite some time, but we haven’t seen her release a new album since Anti came out in 2016.

]]>Jelly Roll was one of the main contenders for the main awards of the night – video of the year. His megahit “Need a Favor” defeated Cody Johnson’s “The Painter” and Kelsea Ballerini’s “If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too)” to take the trophy home.
“Need a Favor” also won the trophy for the male video of the year and Jolly Roll won a prize for the CMT performance of the year for his rendition of this song at the last year’s ceremony.
Jelly Roll is no stranger to dominating CMT Music Awards, and he also walked away with three trophies last year, including male video of the year for “Son of a Sinner”. He’s the first artist to win back-to-back awards in this category since Blake Shelton in 2013/14.
The CMT Music Video Awards took place at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas on April 7, with Kelsea Ballerini returning as a host.

]]>The concerts in question were supposed to take place on March 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, and 30 at The Colosseum, Caesar’s Palace before Adele announced she’d fallen ill. She pushed the dates in question to the weekends of October 25-26, November 1-2, 8-9, 15-16, and 22-23, adding that “ticket holders for the postponed dates will be sent an email regarding their new allocated date.”
Adele initially announced she was pausing her Las Vegas residency in late February, explaining she had no choice but to take a break on doctors’ orders.
“I was sick at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break. I hadn’t quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I’m sick again, and unfortunately, it’s all taken a toll on my voice,” explained Adele at the time.
Weekends with Adele isn’t the only residency she has in store this year. She’ll head to Germany for Adele in Munich, which includes ten shows at Messe München in Munich this August.

According to the singer’s statement, this body of work consists of songs “that might’ve made it to the circles of gluttony, limbo, violence, and the outward ‘ascent’… but could not for different reasons,” referring to his latest studio album Unreal Unearth, which drew inspiration from Dante’s Inferno.
“Too Sweet” managed to attract 28.8 million streams, 268,000 in airplay audience, and 4,000 in sales during its first week on the chart, debuting at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It became his second top-ten song on the Hot 100 nearly a decade after his breakout hit “Take Me to Church”, which peaked at No. 2 in 2014.
As for the rest of the Billboard Hot 100 for this week, Future and Metro Boomin hit No. 1 with their latest collaboration “Like That” ft. Kendrick Lamar. Five songs from their album We Don’t Trust You made it to the top ten, including “Type S–T” ft. Travis Scott and Playboi Carti at No. 2.
