We can always count on Lady Gaga to rock our world with her highly conceptual music videos, and she’s done it again! The eerie visual for “Disease” hit the shelves just in time for Halloween, and it sees her coming face to face with her inner demons.

The visual for “Disease” kicks off in a peaceful suburban neighborhood, but this idyllic setting is quickly replaced by more disturbing images. As the frame spans to Lady Gaga, we see her lying on the hood of a car, before eventually confronting the driver. The mysterious figure in an all-black outfit wears a leather mask that covers most of their face, only to take it off and reveal themselves as another version of Lady Gaga.

The singer said this song explores her relationship with her own inner demons, capturing her attempts to run away from them only to realize they’re still a part of her.

“It’s never been easy for me to face how I get seduced by chaos and turmoil. It makes me feel claustrophobic. Disease is about facing that fear, facing myself and my inner darkness, and realizing that sometimes I can’t win or escape the parts of myself that scare me,” she wrote in a statement.

“Disease” serves as the interlude for Lady Gaga’s upcoming seventh studio album, which will reportedly hit the shelves in February.
