Alessia Cara is a woman of many talents, and her latest single sees her performing in a brand-new language. “Querer Mejor” is her first song in Spanish, and Colombian superstar Juanes helped her deliver it.

This wasn’t the first time this duo partnered up. They previously performed a bilingual version of hit song “1-800-273-8255”, during the 2017 Latin Grammy Awards.

“Querer Mejor” was born out of Cara’s love for Latin music, and it’s her first-ever Spanish-language track.

“I’ve always loved Latin music, so getting to dabble in that realm with such a legend is pretty amazing. And getting his stamp of approval on my Spanish pronunciation wasn’t so bad either,” said Cara in official press release.

Juanes couldn’t wait to work with the young singer because the joy she finds in music is contagious, and he’s very proud of the song they recorded together.

“It brought even more of a connection in how well our voices naturally fit together on this soulful and uplifting song. I am very proud to be the artist she chose to sing with in Spanish for the first time,” said Colombian singer.

The video for their first joint single was filmed in various streets, rooftops, and theaters throughout Madrid.
