St. Vincent is currently on tour across the United States in support of MassEducation, a collection of acoustic, piano-driven versions of the songs from her 2017’s album Masseduction. As part of the tour, the 36-year-old singer/songwriter made a stop in New York where she delivered an exceptional performance at Brooklyn Academy of Music.

Besides performing songs from MassEducation and some of her other classics, St. Vincent also delivered an amazing cover of Lou Reed’s song “Perfect Day” with the help of pianist Thomas Bartlett. In case you didn’t manage to attend the show, don’t worry. One fan was kind enough to capture this performance on camera and share it with us who were not there.

Check out the video below.

Lou Reed wrote “Perfect Day” in 1972 after he and his then-fiancée Bettye Kronstad spent a day in New York’s Central Park. The song became a part of Reed’s second solo album Transformer and included contributions from Mick Ronson and David Bowie. It became a big hit and was covered by various music acts since then including British pop-rockers Duran Duran and Scottish recording artist Susan Boyle. Reed himself also re-recorded the song in 2003 for his nineteenth studio album The Raven.
