Post Malone is known to be a big Nirvana fan, having covered the band multiple times during his live gigs. Recently, however, the “Rockstar” rapper decided to take his love for the grunge legends to a whole new level.

Malone organized a Nirvana tribute concert from his Salt Lake City home, playing a set consisting out of classics like “Drain You,” “Breed,” In Bloom,” and “Heart-Shaped Box.” He live-streamed the entire thing on YouTube and was joined by Blink 182’s Travis Barker on drums, bassist Brian Lee, and guitarist Nick Mac.

Besides paying tribute to Nirvana, the gig also aimed to raise funds for The World Health Organization and help fight against coronavirus pandemic. The concert ended up bringing close to $3 million in donations.

The gig saw Malone doing his best to do justice to Nirvana songs, and surpassingly, he did really well. The rapper’s energetic performance earned praise from music fans all over the world, as well as Kurt Cobain’s widow Courtney Love and Nirvana’s bassist Krist Novoselic.

“Goosebumps … Go have a margarita Post Malone. Nothing but love from here,” said Love on Instagram.

“So proud of @PostMalone and crew,” tweeted Novoselic.
