Nandi Bushell, an 11-year-old prodigy and viral sensation, continues to impress the music world with her drumming skills. This time, Bushell received a shout-out from Linkin Park after delivering an impressive cover of their hit track “Numb.”
Bushell shared the cover on Twitter over the weekend, saying that she discovered the nu-metal legends just recently and is impressed with “the keyboards and the DJ scratching.” She also praised the late vocalist Chester Bennington, writing that he “had such an incredible voice.”
It didn’t take long for the band to notice the cover, sharing it with six millions of their followers and writing: “Wow, this is awesome” in the caption.
Nandi Bushell started playing drums at the age of five, after hearing The Beatles’ “Hey Jude.” A year later, Bushell’s parents set up social media accounts to share her takes on various rock classics.
Her viral performances first drew the attention of Lenny Kravitz, who was impressed with her skills and invited her to play with him at The O2 Arena in 2019. Bushell’s covers were noticed by other musicians after that, with Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea, and Muse’s Matt Bellamy being among those who publicly praised her.
In a recent interview, Bushell said that she wants to create her own music and is hoping to start a rock band Titans.
