The iconic Irish rock band U2 seemed to have really warmed up to Las Vegas. The group announced that it is expanding its “Achtung Baby” residency at the city’s Sphere once again by adding four dates to bring the number of played shows to 40.

U2 was initially supposed to play 25 shows, titled U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere, at the Sphere from September until December of 2023. The bend envisioned their performances as the unique audio and visual experience that would make the best use of the Sphere’s state-of-the-art technology. The set list featured their seminal album Achtung Baby in full, alongside greatest hits from other studio efforts.

The residency was an immediate success, with shows receiving rave reviews from the critics and causing a huge demand for tickets. This prompted U2 to expand their residency with 16 new shows through February 2024, but this still wasn’t enough.

Now, the band decided to play four more shows, which they call “final.” The concerts will take place on February 23-24 and March 1-2, with the tickets going on sale for the general public on December 8.

U2 has played 19 shows so far as part of U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere residency. The next show is scheduled for December 6. Through the first 17 shows, the band sold 281,000 tickets and earned $109.8 million.
