Five years after their breakup in 2014, New York indie rockers The Rapture are ready to play together once again. After their name appeared on the bill of Just Like Heaven festival in LA, band’s frontman Luke Jenner confirmed that The Rapture are reuniting via social media.

Before their performance on Just Like Heaven on May 4th, the band will play a live show at Music Hall of Williamsburg on April 30th, which is the place where they had their last gig before the breakup.

“So it’s been a long time since The Rapture did anything,” Jenner wrote on Facebook. “It’s been this long, gritty road trying to figure out how to be a father and a husband which seemed a lot more important than standing on stage in front of anyone. We went to therapy, we talked it out, it’s still a little weird, but I couldn’t do it if I didn’t feel like it was gonna be some kinda personal progress. Anyway, I hope there is a long future for us, and we can build something new. Maybe you will join us someplace along the way again.”

The Rapture released their last album In the Grace of Your Love back in 2011. After a short promotional tour, the band played their last show in 2012 and unofficially split two years later.
