A Guns N’ Roses album has been anticipated for quite some time but it turns out that the rock group is only “just getting started.”

Earlier this year, legendary guitarist Slash revealed that a new album was in the works and that the band had enough songs to make the record. Now, he has revealed that it could be quite sometime before the record is actually complete. He also clarified that his previous comments were distorted.

“No, you know, by the time it gets to the place where anybody’s read it, it’s morphed into something more than what I directly said,” he told Rock Cellar Magzine. “There is material that Axl’s been working on for a while. It could be enough for a record if we put it all together.”

He continued: “Everybody’s got demos, and everybody’s got material, and this that and the other, for whatever it could be. It’s just a matter of us focusing on it. So it’s really hard to answer questions on the next Guns thing.”

Guns N’ Roses have not released anything together since 2008’s
Chinese Democracy. The upcoming album is therefore highly anticipated by fans.
