The surviving members of The Allman Brothers are returning to stage in 2020. They will celebrate the group’s 50th anniversary with a tribute show in New York’s Madison Square Garden on March 10th.

After the band decided to quit touring in 2014, they considered playing Garden as part of their farewell. However, they instead opted for a series of shows in Manhattan’s Beacon Theatre. The group played its last show in Beacon on October 28, 2014.

Six years after, the surviving members of The Allman Brothers’ last lineup figured one more show would be fitting for such a big occasion like 50th anniversary. Drummer Jaimoe Johanson, guitarists Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks, bassist Oteil Burbridge and percussionist Marc Quinones won’t use the band’s full name, however, opting to call themselves The Brothers.

They will also be joined drummer Duane Trucks, pianist Chuck Leavell, and organist Reese Wynans. Trucks is the nephew of late founding drummer Butch Trucks, Leavell was a member of the band in the 1970s, while Wynans played in the band Second Coming with several of the group’s members.

“It’s a way of honoring 50 years of the band and honoring Duane, Gregg, Berry and Butch and the music they created,” Haynes told Rolling Stone magazine. “That music deserves a 50th-anniversary celebration. Most rock bands never thought they’d even see their 50th anniversary. And, of course, this one didn’t. So in a way, this brings some sort of closure.”

Tickets for the Madison Square Garden show will appear in presale on January 7th, while the public sale kicks off on January 10th.
