American rockers that dog. decided to treat their fans with a new album for the first time in 20 years. The group also announced that their new record, titled Old LP, will be out on October 4th. The record serves as a follow-up to 1997 Retreat from the Sun.

The album will have 11 tracks and is set to feature appearances from several notable musicians including actress/singer Maya Rudolph, Blur’s leading guitarist Graham Coxon and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ guitarist Josh Klinghoffer.

As part of the announcement, the band also shared the song “If You Just Didn’t Do it,” which serves as the first single from the album. Hear it below.

Old LP, which was first announced two years ago, was recorded by three original members of the band: bassist/vocalist Rachel Haden, guitarist/vocalist Anna Waronker, and drummer Tony Maxwell. Violinist/vocalist Petra Haden, who was a member of the band until 2017, decided not to take part in the recording process.

Formed in 1991, that dog. released three studio albums before disbanding in 1997. They reunited in 2011 and have been touring ever since.
