We can count on Taylor Swift to hit No. 1 every time she drops a new album, and she broke new ground with her latest re-recording. Speak Now (Taylor’s Versions) easily debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart, scoring the biggest week for an album in 2023, and helping Swift make history along the way.

In addition to hitting No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, Speak Now (Taylor’s Versions) also joined Swift’s other three albums on the chart: Midnights (2022) at No. 5, Lover (2019) at No. 7 and Folklore (2020) at No. 10. This is quite an achievement and it makes Swift the first woman in history to have four albums in the top ten in the chart’s history.

She’s also one of three artists overall to achieve this feat. The all-time record is held by Prince, who simultaneously charted five albums in the top ten following his death in 2016. Herb Alpert also had four albums in the top ten all the way back in 1966.

Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) also scored the biggest week of 2023 so far with 716,000 equivalent album units earned, including 507,000 in traditional album sales. It’s Swift’s twelfth album to debut at No. 1, and it helped her surpass Barbra Streisand for the most No. 1 albums among women.
