It’s always fun to see our favorite actors star in fun music videos and Paul Rudd is the latest to throw his hat into the ring. The Ant-Man actor join forces with the indie musician Claud and appeared in the quirky visual for their latest single “A Good Thing”.

Claud, aka Claud Mintz, who uses they/them pronouns, is a rising indie pop star, but how did they exactly convince one of Hollywood’s most recognizable actors to be in their music video? It turns out they met in passing at Taylor Swift’s concert and got in touch via email after Claud told Rudd that he served as inspiration for one of their songs.

“In the email, I explained that ‘Paul Rudd’ and many other songs on the record are about me trying to imagine myself as a cool and confident person similar to the types of characters he plays, in contrast to the real-life shy and nervous person I often am,” said Claud.

“A Good Thing” has been lifted from Claud’s second studio album Supermodels, released via Phoebe Bridgers‘ Saddest Factory label. The singer wanted to capture “an anthemic, everything works out in the end type feeling” with songs such as “A Good Thing” and “Paul Rudd”, and having the actual Paul Rudd in the music video certainly helped!
