Fans who attended Foo Fighters’ show at Seattle’s Safeco Field on Saturday were in for a real treat. They had the opportunity to witness the surviving members of Nirvana – Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear – reuniting on stage for the first time since 2016 and playing Vaseline’s “Molly’s Lips.” The track was frequently performed at Nirvana’s live shows and was featured on Incesticide album.

This is an old song, we haven’t done this song together in a long time,” – Grohl told the audience before welcoming Novoselic onto the stage.

You can check out the video and a photo from the reunion below.

This mini-Nirvana reunion wasn’t an accident. Krist Novoselic came at Safeco Field with his new band Giants in the Trees and played as an opening act for Dave Grohl’s Foo Fighters.

If you are bummed out for missing out on this epic reunion, don’t worry. There might be a chance for this to happen once again in the near future. On October 16th, Novoselic will be with Giants in the Trees at Cal Jam 2018, music festival curated by Grohl so they could easily do one of Nirvana oldies for fun once again. Fingers crossed!
