Stevie Nicks advises the Haim girls to go solo.

Last week (December 13), Stevie Nicks became the first woman to be inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame not once, but twice. In 1998, she was welcomed in with Fleetwood Mac but now, she has been inducted based on her solo material.

At the age of 70, Stevie Nicks is over the moon that she has been recognized for her solo material and hopes to inspire women in the generations below. She approached one particular girl band to share her words of wisdom after the show.

“After the show last night I was talking to the Haim girls,” the Fleetwood Mac star told Rolling Stone. “I was saying to them, ‘Okay, now I’ve opened the door for you. Now each one of you needs to go do a solo album really fast and get your solos going, so in the next 20 years you’ll be able to do this too and maybe I’ve opened the doors to all the girls in my life that sing and write and play and are amazing.’”

So, perhaps we can expect some solo albums one day soon from the Haim girls? Either way, here’s some Stevie Nicks to celebrate her inspiring achievement and general awesomeness.
