Garbage’s last album, Strange Little Birds, was released in 2016 and now, three years later, the fans are waiting for some new material from the alternative rock band. As reported by, frontwoman Shirley Manson is settings their minds in peace – it is getting closer.

The singer said that the band has a record set for next year and that they are “shooting for a 2020 release”. She also said that they will “definitely 100% not put out new music this year”.

Manson said that the band did some writing and even a little recording before going on their summer tour. “That’s the plan anyway. You just never know what the world is going to throw at you,” she said. Manson said that the band learned to be flexible with their plans over the years. “because whenever we have rigid plans, they tend to get broken.”

The next album would be the 7th studio album for the band after the1995 debut album, Garbage, 1998’s Version 2, 2001’s Beautiful Garbage, 2005’s Bleed Like me, 2012’s Not Your Kind of People and 2016’s Strange Little Birds.
