Music is one of the best ways to inspire, encourage and empower young people, and the latest collaboration by Shawn Mendes and Khalid is a case in point. This epic duo just dropped a new video for their hit song Youth, and it perfectly captures the lyrics of this electrifying tune.
Shawn Mendes and Khalid used this 7 odd minutes to encourage millennials to exercise their voting rights and showcased some of the most inspiring young people they came across. 30 amazing individuals, including activists, painters, dancers, musical prodigies and survivors of gun violence, got their chance to shine in Youth.
The two artists had a very clear vision for this video from the get-go and knew they have to make something that will highlight and empower young people, by giving the stage to a group of extraordinary kids.
“Khalid and I wanted them to be the focus of the video, and to give them a platform, in the hope that it can inspire other young people to pursue what they love and use their voice,” explained Shawn Mendes, who wrote this song in the wake of the horrific attacks at Ariana Grande’s concert in Manchester.
