Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello are set to perform “Señorita” at this year’s Video Music Awards.
The performance that will mark the first time the duo will perform live together was announced by MTV on Wednesday.
“Señorita” has proven to be a HUGE success — according to Variety, since its release, it debuted at number one on iTunes worldwide and broke Spotify’s record for the biggest debut from a male and female duet in its history.
“The reception to ‘Señorita,’ it’s been so cool to see. Especially because this song was eight months in the making,” Cabello told Variety. “Shawn texted me the idea for the song, and he was like, ‘Oh my god, this is amazing that you want to do it.’”
Both Mendes and Cabello nabbed an impressive number of VMA nominations, coming in at six and five respectively.
The VMAs take place August 26.
