Selena Gomez made a triumphant return last week with two new singles “Lose You to Love Me” and “Look at Her Now”. These songs already inspired many think-pieces and led to many speculations, but one thing that many people failed to focus on is how her fan base influenced these tracks.

Gomez has one of the strongest fandoms in the world, and she’s always been open about her ups and downs. Her loyal Selenators have been there for her through thick and thin, and she used her new songs to tell them how much their support meant to her.

While “Lose You to Love Me” sent them a sign she’s doing ok after everything she went through, “Look at Her Now” was her way of saying that she’s proud of myself and grateful to people who were by her side.

“This one I did for my fans. Because my ride-or-dies that have been with me for years, they’ve seen everything and they’ve been a part of my life. And social media amplifies your connection with people, so I actually feel way closer to them than I’ve ever been before,” said Selena Gomez during an interview on Sirius XM’s Hits 1.
