MTV Video Music Awards are one of the most anticipated award ceremonies of the year, and we finally know who’s going to host them this time around. Comedian Sebastian Maniscalco will take on this duty for the first time ever.

The MTV VMAs will take place on August 26th at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. It will be the first ceremony to take place in this state, since they’ve been mostly held in either New York or California. The list of nominees has yet to be announced.

Before booking this gig, Maniscalco repeatedly made it to Forbes’ list of world’s highest paid comedians. He recently appeared in the Oscar-winning movie Green Book, filmed the Netflix comedy special Stay Hungry, and is set to star in Martin Scorsese’s next film The Irishman.

It will be fun to see him shake things up at this ceremony, since the MTV VMAs have been hosted by musicians or went hostless in the last few years. The most recent hosts include Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Kevin Hart.
